LauraLee Symes, LPC, Principal
LauraLee Symes is an organization consultant and counselor specializing
in professional and organizational development. The primary focus of her
practice is to help clients assess needs and design strategies to
strengthen individual and group performance in the workplace.
Ms. Symes has nearly 20 years experience in corporate sales, management
and performance training. As a consultant, she has developed and
delivered needs assessments, targeted training programs, organizational
development, and professional coaching since 1991.
Ms. Symes is a founding partner of Fifth Avenue Counseling & Consulting,
a Portland, OR, private practice specializing in organizational
consulting, leadership coaching, EAP counseling, and neuropsychological
testing. She earned her BS in Psychology from Portland State University
and an MA in Counseling Psychology and Organizational Consulting from
Pacific University. Ms. Symes served her internship at Oregon Health and
Sciences University during which she performed intensive counseling and
assessments for dual diagnosis patients. She has also worked with the
OHSU Employee Wellness Program delivering workplace interventions and
individual employee development.
Clients include the Portland Development Commission, Northwest Energy
Efficiency Alliance, Portland Family of Funds, Providence Portland,
Bureau of Land Management, Oregon Health Sciences University, Chevron,
Ford Aerospace, American Express, Portland School District, Southwest
Washington Medical Center, and Oakland School District.
Ms. Symes is the author of Rainbows in My Soup (1995), a
contributor to the publication Quality of Life Definition and
Terminology (1998) and is an affiliate member of the American
Psychological Association and a member of the International Association
for Quality of Life, an academic organization that focuses its research
on quality of life studies.
Ms. Symes is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Oregon and certified in
the administration and interpretation of the Hogan Assessment Systems.
In addition, Ms. Symes is certified
as an Oregon Women Business Enterprise (WBE Certification #3673, January
2004).
